The Ana G. Méndez University System (AGMUS), the third largest university system in the Island, and the internationally prestigious university system in Spain, Universidad CEU San Pablo, agreed to teach 17 AGMUS full-time professors their Doctorate Degrees (Ph.D.) in Business Administration. At the present moment we are developing our doctoral dissertation in order to finish it as soon as possible.
The title of my thesis is: “The Touristic Sector in Puerto Rico: Small Inns and Cruise Lines Tourism, a Comparative Analysis” (El sector turístico en Puerto Rico: Paradores y turismo de cruceros, un análisis comparado). After evaluating many different and interesting research instrument, I decided that the best questionnaire I could use to obtain the information I need regarding quality of services will be SERVQUAL, developed by A. Parasuraman, James W. McLamore Chair in Marketing & Professor of Services at the University of Miami; Leonard Berry, the M.B. Zale Chair in Retailing and Marketing Leadership in the Mays Business School at Texas A&M; and Valarie Zeithaml, a David S. Van Pelt Family Distinguished Professor of Marketing and an award-winning teacher and researcher at the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina.
I will like to ask your permission to use SERVQUAL Questionnaire to interview guests staying at you small inn (parador) or those who are checking out about the quality of services your organization provides at the present moment. The information will be strictly confidential and will be used to develop my dissertation research and also to help you and your organization improve the quality of services provided. The information gathered is and will be extremely important to my work and also great appreciated.
